SELMA BROWN is an award-winning artist and illustrator whose art has been featured in dozens of books and magazines.

Selma is best known as a muralist who has contributed to many of the most beloved murals around the Bay Area, including the Women’s Building mural in San Francisco. A true community artist, she brings inspiration and art to our streets and public spaces, and has taught numerous mural painting workshops.

In 2007, Selma’s art was included in the San Francisco Public Library’s Park Branch exhibition “Forty Summers of Love ‘n Haight.” Her mural “Come Together” greets visitors at the library entrance.

Selma enjoys travel, and has studied Chinese brush painting in China, and mask-carving in Bali. She lives and creates in San Francisco.
